SunCloudConfluence

a RESPR division

Welcome to SunCloudConfluence, a solar energy assessment and forecasting division of RESPR!

Monthly averaged simulated solar power density for July 2010 in Southern Texas, USA, using the RESPR platform.

  • SunCloudConfluence, a division of RESPR, was created to specifically address the solar energy assessment and forecasting needs of its global clients.

RESPR created the SunCloudConfluence product brand in 2012 to focus on the solar energy assessment and forecasting needs of its global clients.

It works with global solar project developers for the purposes of site selection, design, and operation via forecasting when those projects come online upon construction.

SunCloudConfluence recommends 30 years of solar data simulated using the RESPR platform in three batches of 10 years each. Each consecutive 10 years of solar radiation simulations will ascertain the viability of the project site being considered. By the time 30 years are simulated, project developers and their investors will know robustly what type of financial return they can expect to produce over the typical lifetime of 15 years of such projects.

Since the SunCloudConfluence appr0ach does not heavily rely on site measurements, developing 30 years of solar radiation data will only take a few months at most. These simulated solar data are proven to be on par with site measurements based on a few validation projects conducted over several years. Once the solar data are produced from the RESPR platform, global horizontal irradiance (GHI), global diffuse irradiance (GDI), and direct normal irradiance (DNI) energy output will be estimated near the surface. Solar energy conversion for photovoltaic (PV) and concentrated solar power (CSP) systems will be undertaken as part of the site selection and project design efforts.

When the projects come online, SunCloudConfluence will be able to produce solar energy forecasts for different types of PV and CSP systems in the 1-hour ahead to daily to even up to several months in advance.

Another member business of The Enterprise Universe, SELC Corp, has agreed to use the SunCloudConfluence solar energy assessment and forecasting products for all of its large-scale wind/solar hybrid projects.
